Ability 1^st is a registered charity (225180) operating in Hartlepool, a town on the North East coast of England, synonymous with hanging a monkey during the Napoleonic war.

We have aims to provide or assist in the provision of leisure time activities for people with learning disabilities, their families and their carers.

We achieve our aims through the delivery of the Royal Mencap Gateway Award Programme.
